The svgalib spell should offer to read display config data from xorg.conf (or 
the xfree86 config file) and put it in /etc/vga/libvga.config (the formatting 
of the X and svgalib config files are nearly identical). I'm mainly referring 
to horizontal sync and vertical refresh rates, but there are some other values 
that could be used, too.
