Bugzilla – Bug 12970
Xmms2 does not compile in flac support
Last modified: 2008-06-16 12:21:06 UTC
When you say Y to flac support the configure runs but does not find flac. TH config gives you: Checking for C header file FLAC/all.h... yes Checking for FLAC__seekable_stream_decoder_get_state() in C library FLAC... no The people in the xmms2 room suggested that i add env.checklib("m", "log") to the end of src/plugins/flac/Plugin. That didn't fix it. My new Plugin file for flac is attached. My config log is attached.

Can you try casting the latest version 0.2DrHouse please?
The same issue remains. In the compile log i see: Checking for C header file FLAC/all.h... yes Checking for FLAC__seekable_stream_decoder_get_state() in C library FLAC... no I can send you a compile log if you wish.

Maybe we should update to the latest version (1.1.4)? 1.1.2 seems to be more than 2 years old! What happens if you just change the version in the flac's DETAILS file and cast both flac and xmms2?
As said I have no such issues and he still didn't respond to the xmms2 version update...
I've updated my flac to 1.1.4 a few months ago in my local grimoire. I used to have problems with xmms2 Dr.House, but on the update to 0.2DrJekyll flac was compiled in as it should have been. On the other hand, the only useful xmms2 client after the upgrade was the cli ... Can anyone remember what the problems with flac 1.1.3 were? It's HISTORY entry doesn't say much much about it.
Yeah DrJexyll broke a lot of the API since it added collections. Pepole are working on it but it might take some time. There are atleast 3 clients that I know of that should work though. But I don't think we have the spells yet. atleast x4x needs a version update.

This now applies to stable grimoire (0.22).
