sane-backend's backup SOURCE_URL[1] is http://alioth.debian.org/download.php/1669/$SOURCE , but the "1669" is specific to the 1.0.18 release, and downloading .../1669/anything will still return 1.0.18.  This caused cast to bail out with a hash check failure after attempting to summon the latest version.

Either this file number needs updating with every release (for 1.0.22 it's 3503), or an alternative mirror should be used that can take predictable URLs without redirecting to the wrong file.

fixed in test with commit 20a24460bf8d896a3d27d9c7630860691651e2b3
